Sunday February 1 Sunday commissioning service

We are ready to go!  We have planned, prayed, dreamed, prayed, raised money, been prayed for, and now it's about time to "just do it!"  The Hearts and Hands for Haiti team, (seen below in our commissioning service today), will be pushing off toward New York at about 1:45 a.m. this Tuesday.  Our flight is scheduled to leave at 8:45 a.m. and arrive in Port au Prince at 12:49 p.m.

Our group of 21, (just over half from New Danville Mennonite Church), will be staying at the Youth With a Mission base in Saint Marc.  We were intending to assist a local pastor that our church has supported since the first team went to Haiti in 2010.  We had hoped to help him finish his house and church in the village of Timonnette and begin construction of a security wall around both buildings. In the meantime, some troublemakers in the village are causing concern among the YWAM leaders and they are questioning the safety of doing our projects there.  Not to fear!  God knows where we can be used the best, and we trust that He will work this situation out for His glory.

Join us in prayer for:
  • safety in our travels
  • guidance for our work efforts
  • good health and protection as we work
Finally, a big "thank you" to all who have contributed to make this trip possible!
